  • tasks should be formulated in such a way that information to solve them have been collected independently from other trainees or from relevant departments (communication, independence);
  • encourage trainees to work in changing work groups (ability to work in teams, flexibility)
  • talk about conflicts openly and encourage the trainees to do so as well
  • let the trainee work out unexpected problems as well as problems which go beyond company affairs (creativity, process-oriented thinking)
  • just describe a problem from time to time without formulating tasks (initiative, independence)
  • don’t forget to ask for background knowledge and correlations
  • always ask the trainee to find the relationship between theory and practice
  • exclude obvious solutions (creativity)
  • integrate the trainees into work groups (if they exist in your company)
